The God-Kind of Love

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:13-14 NIV

In Genesis 1:26 God says that we were created in His image and in His likeness. Therefore, we have the capacity to operate in the God-class. We have the ability to love like God, talk God and walk like Him. God is the creator of everything good. For the Lord is good and His mercies endures forever. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith works by love. In other words, faith operates by or through love. In order for our faith to work we have to operate or function by love. There are several kinds of love in the Greek New Testament definition. They are brotherly love, erotic love and Godly love. The kind I want to focus on is the Godly kind. The Godly kind of love is the kind that loves you when you don't deserve it. The God-kind of love is the love God that used to create the world. The God-kind of love is the love that makes you love your enemies. The God-kind of love is able to love the hell out of people. The Bible says that the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. The love of God purifies our heart. For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son. When we love we give. The principal of giving comes from God since he gave his Son. We love God because he first loved us. We are responding to His love.
